Embark your flight and fly over the pacific to Maui. Once there, travel through scenic upcountry Kula district to visit the spectacular "House of the Sun"—Mount Haleakala. Enjoy the views atop the 10,043-foot (3,061-m) summit at Haleakala National Park. Stop by the Visitor Center and Pu`u Ula`ula Overlook—keeping an eye out for rare Silversword plants and unique species of birds—such as the Hawaii State bird, the Nene goose. Visit the town of Wailuku, sugar cane fields, and Ka`ahumanu Church. Then take a scenic drive to soaring `Iao Valley State Park. You will also have the opportunity to explore Lahaina— an old whaling port town and the former capital of Hawaii—where shops, restaurants, and art galleries await your discover before your return flight to Oahu.
