Add the clink of a champagne glass to a vivid story and the graceful movements of hula dancers. Watch as the evening dims and then relights with poi ball twirlers and fire knife dancers. A lavish buffet awaits you, in an evening that captures the gambit—from a quiet intimacy to the stunning display of sight and sounds.
Details
Nestled in a 35-acre (14-ha) manicured pasture, Gaylord's Restaurant Kilohana sits at the end winding driveway. Enter to see the paintings of Ethel and Gaylord Parke Wilcox that line the walls. Beautiful pine wainscoting graces the living room, hallways, and library.
Outside, as the Kauai skies darken above, the Kalamaku theatrical troupe takes the stage to tell of the epic voyage from Tahiti to Hawaii along one of the longest sea roads of Polynesia.
The luau celebrates the triumphs and struggles of the Hawaiian people—culminating in word, music, and the hypnotic light trails of a fire dance.
