Experience firsthand their dramatic behaviors aboard our spacious and stable luxury sailing catamaran, the "Sea Smoke". We motor to various pods of whales following the rules of the National Marine Fisheries agency. Typical trips allow observation of a variety of surface whale behaviors. Many close encounters occur when the whales get curious about the boat and come closer.
Throughout the trip, our trained Marine Naturalists give a narrated description of whale information & interpretation of the behaviors being observed. Narration can be heard over the ship's P/A system all around the boat and we also deploy our sensitive underwater Hydrophone to listen to the whale songs. Come celebrate as the Humpbacks party with you on the Kohala coast!
