Take a jaunt through the bucolic Upcountry Kula Area up to the “House of the Sun,” the summit of Mount Haleakala, Maui’s dormant volcano. Learn about Haleakala National Park from the visitor center, and take in the panoramic beauty from Pu’u Ula’ula Overlook, perched on the 10,043-foot (3,061-meter) summit. See exotic plants and animals, such as Protea Blossoms, Silversword plants, and the Nene goose, the state bird of Hawaii. From Haleakala, travel down through the sugar cane fields around the town of Wailuku, and see Ka’ahumanu Church. Continue down into ‘Iao Valley State Park. This full-day adventure shows you a wide range of what the island of Maui has to offer.
