Big Island Zip Line Adventure
The beautiful North Kohala Coast, one of Hawaii's best kept secrets and the area that gave birth to King Kamehameha, is now giving birth to Big Island Eco Adventures, the Big Island's first zip-line canopy tour.
Overlooking the incredible Pololu Valley lies 500 acres of ancient hillside filled with sturdy Ironwood and showy Albizia trees. The unique volcanic geology and nature's winds and waters have carved luscious waterfalls and pools cascading through these forests. The scent of ginger and guava and a variety of tropical bird songs create a magical setting for a thrilling, enchanting, and exhilarating zip-line experience.
Zip lining, in general, is a low-impact tourist activity. BIEA's base yard is strategically located in Kapalau, just 2.5 miles from the access road to the zip-line course, to minimize fossil-fuel use. The access route is an existing road into our zip-line canopy. No new roads were cut to accommodate our tour. Once on the property, groups of 8-10 will hike old cattle trails that helped BIEA map its zip-line canopy tour.
