Get face to face with the curious, exotic marine creatures of world-class snorkeling paradise Molokini Crater and its lesser-known, equally spectacular counterpart, Coral Gardens. Glide to these underwater nirvanas via the lavish glass-bottom catamaran, the Four Winds II.

Details

This 5-hour, family-suitable voyage into Maui’s mysterious and beautiful underwater world is much more than an ordinary boat ride-with-dive. It guarantees you a mind-blowing day of snorkeling—even in bad weather conditions. Getting there is half the fun on the Four Winds II, a luxurious vessel powered by motors or sails, with panoramic 180-degree views via its glass bottom. And unlike most tours, this one does not head only to the deep clear waters of Molokini Crater or cancel if the weather is bad—it lets you discover Coral Gardens near the Maui coast. Coral Gardens is a hidden snorkeling gem in any weather, with waters ranging from 1 foot (0.3 m) to 20 feet (6.1 m) deep.

Whether you swim with the fishes at Molokini or Coral Gardens (or both), the diving is personalized thanks to the tour’s resident marine naturalist and its state-of-the-art gear. Optical masks, Sea Sleds, boogie boards, optional Snuba diving (like scuba, but with no tanks or gear), and more are included. The fish, sea turtles, and other creatures give you every reason to stay in the water, but the on-board amenities, including continental breakfast and a scrumptious barbecue lunch featuring chicken and pulled pork (prepared by the Four Wind II’s first mate), make it impossible not to climb back onboard!
